The Ease of Wonton Crackers
That's right! These wonton wrapper crackers are SO EASY and so delicious! We use wonton wrappers and a few basic ingredients - butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Bake until golden brown. PLUS, they are ready in 15 minutes - start to finish!

Equipment Used
No fancy equipment required for making wonton crackers! We used a
- knive to cut the wonton wrappers.
- reusable nonstick silicone baking mat to line our baking sheet pans but you can also use parchment paper. We love using a silpat because it is reusable. Just wash, dry and use again!
- pastry brush to brush a light layer of butter on the wonton wrapper.
- small mesh strainer (or empty shaker) for cinnamon sugar. It can be difficult to get a light, even dusting of cinnamon sugar on the wonton wrapper. Using a pinch with your fingers can end up with too much and uneven spots on the cracker.
- An empty shaker (like a salt shaker) works great. Put the mixed cinnamon sugar in sprinkle mixture on the wonton. Just make sure it has small holes!
- No extra salt shaker? Use a small mesh strainer. Place the cinnamon sugar mixture into the strainer. Gently use a back and forth motion while moving over the wonton pieces until they are coated evenly.
Substitutions and Additions
We love this base recipe with wonton wrappers - it is easy and quick - have fun with it! Use vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil, or olive oil instead of melted butter. Use some brown sugar in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Cut the square wontons in rectangles, triangles, or mini squares.

Make Ahead Tips
These baked wonton chips are great to make ahead of time and have ready to serve. Make them up to 3 days in advance and store on the counter in an airtight container. Make sure it is covered or they will disappear before your party!
NOTE: this recipe calls for half a package of the wonton wrappers. If you don’t want to make the entire package, the uncooked wrappers freeze great! Place in an airtight container, we like our stasher bags for this, and place in the freezer for up to 9 months. They thaw quickly either on the counter or in the refrigerator.

Some Common FAQ's
Most grocery stores will carry them, but you may have to ask. We use square wonton wrappers and find them in the deli section, vegetable section, or by the packaged cheese.
YES! These wonton crackers are also good with olive oil, canola oil, or liquid coconut oil in place of the butter. If you use oil, you can brush it on just like the butter or use a Misto Oil Sprayer! The key is to make sure the cracker is lightly coated - not swimming in oil and not dry.
